In the image above i was using the rubber tool, this was the colouring of the centre circle (green) had gone a bit over the edges and I was trying to fix it to get it back within the circle. The circle was left in colour to show it off and make it stand out to customers, this is as it is a key symbol of Alexandra Palace and one of the oldest remaining victorian features, so by highlighting it can intrigue customers and potential customers.
In the 2 Images above, I was currently using the quick selection tool, this was too grab and bring out some of the features of the building, this was done to interest the reader as it has the effect of wonder to it.
In the two images above i was currently using the text tool, I was using this tool to type the cover lines of my magazine. These are made to give customers an insight into what they could find and read about in my magazine.

In the image above i was using the move tool, i was using this too place my image exactly where i wanted it too be. The effect of this being the magazine will look professional as well as the reader can get a good view of the image.
In the image above i was using the text tool, I was using it to make the title and start of the my main article in my double page spread. The effect of this being the reader knows what the article is about and information about it.

In the two images above i was using the move tool to move the image into the right position, this was too put it properly in with the article. The effect of this will be they can clearly see the image that the article leads too.
In the image above i was still using the move tool, again using it to move a different image this time which is leading on from the article.
The image above is me using the text tool to finish typing up my main article on the double page spread, the effect of this being the reader with then have detailed knowledge on the venue as well as information on future and past performers there.
How my front cover and double page spread meet codes and conventions
Front Cover
I believe that my front cover follows the codes and conventions standards that other magazines have and do, I think this as my front cover has everything that it needs to have to make it a Magazine standard front cover. My magazine has a mast head, main image which is of Alexandra palace, it has the price of the magazine at £4, it has a strap-line at the top of it. It also has the date and barcode, it has the main cover-line as well as other cover-lines too. My front cover doesn't break any of the IPSO regulation as well.
My front cover has a mast head as this is a key feature of any front cover as it shows customers what the main article will be about and tempt readers to buy the magazine. The main image is there to attract customers to buy the magazine as well as showing the customer what the article is about at the same time. My front cover also has the price of the magazine on it as this shows customers quickly how much it costs, the circle with the price also advertises the fact some of the price is then donated to WWF,this is to encourage people to buy the magazine as well. The strap-line at the top of the front cover is also to advertise the magazine to customers passing it. The barcode is just for the purchasing of the magazine to scan it.
Double Page Spread
I also think my double page spread is up to codes and conventions that most magazines follow, these are unwritten rules. as my double page spread it too has all the things other magazines double page spread have. For example my magazine has it's main article which consists of information regarding the venue, information regarding past artists who have played there as well future players. The article also has an interview with a senior member of staff of the venue in-charge of the events in the building. The double page spread also contains images relating too the main article to try to engage with the reader more. My double page spread contains the main article, this is for the information on what the main article is meant to be about, the images on it are to help the reader engage more so it isn't just all text. The interview is there to get more background information on the venue.
Magazine's Suitability
I believe my magazine does appeal to the right target audience. The magazines target age range of 18-30 is targeted by the magazine as the front cover does stand out, the image is edited to look less basic and so that on stands it stands out from other magazines, this can then attract the younger adults. The red and black colours link to the rock genre which the main article of the first edition and then can attract the rock genre lovers.
One of the strengths of my magazine is the charity incentive that comes with the magazine. By this i mean that my magazine is going to donate some of the profit it makes to the wildlife charity. Half of the price of the magazine will be donated to the charity. This is a unique thing with a magazine and is a strength as the reasons behind the charity initiative are likely to the magazine more attention and attract more readers.
Another strength about my magazine is that is uniquely the only magazine that focuses on venues in the North London area and looking at the new music scenes in the area. This is good for he magazine and readers looking for information about venues or upcoming gigs can read the magazine for that purpose and get all the detail they need.
I also think a strength of magazine is that it uses the original images of the venue to show it off to the reader. This is done on the front cover and the double page spread. The venue Alexandra Palace is a famous North London venue with iconic features and these are shown off by the magazine which appeals to the local North London readers.
A possible improvement that could be made to my magazine is the colour of the text and background of my double page spread. This is because the current background and colour of the text clash a bit which makes the text a bit difficult to read which could be bad as this could make people not want to read the magazine especially the more older generation though my magazine is not targeted at this age range. As to improve this issue I could try using a different colour for text to make it more legible, or changing the font of the text to make it more clear to read.
Another issue with my magazine that requires an improvement is that the double page spread is a bit bland to look it. Nothing on the page really stands out, the background is just a picture that hasn't be edited. This is bad as it could be assumed boring by potential readers who could then decide not the buy the magazine. To improve on this the background photo should be edited to make to make it more exciting and less plain. The page layout should also be adjusted to look less like a newspaper and more like a magazine.
I also believe as an improvement the front cover of my magazine could and should quickly give the idea of the magazine to the reader. By this i mean the front cover should also say on it the fact its the only events based magazine in North London. This would help to attract the targeted readers more effectively.
