Feedback from client: D1 (U21):

Discusses, Considers, useful and not and what will be used to improve the product:

The client gave me a few points i could improve on for my presentation and what I could do in the future to make the powerpoint give the magazine a better image. The client also gave me points which were good about the magazine as well as things that didn't make sense or things that could lead to problems in the long run. One of the main points the client suggested to avoid running into future problems was to consider making the main article of the magazine about a specific genre not the whole edition of the magazine as this would mean running out of genres in the future. Therefore, i have taken into consideration this point from the client as this will be a very useful improvement for the future development and marketing of the magazine.

The client also made a point that the powerpoint could turn into the magazine logo of which he liked very much, the powerpoint design which was a box with a small arrow on the bottom, looks like a arrow on a online map pointing at a location connecting to the theme of the magazine. A good point from this is the use of the design is already granted to me by the purchasing of the subscription from Microsoft so i would not need to secure permission from them or be able to be sued by them for copyright.

The client also liked the charity idea which connected into the magazine, the charity being WWF, this was chosen due to the magazine promoting venues which have destroyed habitats and moved wild life, as explained to the client. The client said he liked the idea as it was another good USP for the magazine and a clear identifier for the brand of the magazine as well as doing some good for the wild life. The client suggested adding more information on this and making this USP clearer and advertising it possibly with a double page spread or on the front cover itself.

The client also said and i took into consideration that I should link websites I get information from in my magazine so the client and readers can find out more information and know how valid the statistics are. It is also important that i link the websites to give them credit for the informations and figures so they cannot sue for copyright, therefore, this point from the client is one which can solve a possible legal problem.

A key thing which the client also said I should do is too double check my presentation for error, this is after the client pointed out there was an error with the maths inside the presentation. It is important for the numbers to be right when presenting as if the numbers are not correct it could mislead the client or make me look bad for the client who i'm trying to convince to invest in my magazine and show I know what i'm doing.

Conclusion: In conclusion the client gave me quite good feedback on the product i had created and offered me good idea and points to help improve my product, the client however did not give me any bad points which I can't use to improve the product.

Key ideas/feedback from client:

The client gave me 5 key points of feedback on my pitch to Him.
Genre for main article not magazine issue - P

The client suggested early into the feedback that I shouldn't have a set genre for each edition of the magazine. I agree with his point as I were to have a set genre for each edition I will run out of genres for my magazine and be stuck in a corner. Therefore, I as the client suggested the genre set will be only for the main article of the magazine to give the magazine more breathing room. I am glad the client suggested this point to me as otherwise I would of been stuck. This will also help my magazine link to the upcoming music scenes of North London by quickly being able to adapt to the popular genres.

Make choice of font more clear for entire magazine not just master head - N

The client also pointed out that the font of my magazine has to be clear and consistent for the whole magazine. I do not agree with his point about this. I think my font should only be the same for my logo as this adds to the brand awareness of my magazine. I believe also if the genres are differing in my magazine they can have personal fonts to match them to give them more of a personal vibe, the font for the genre can then stay the same. This means the magazine connect to the vibrant upcoming music scene in North London by being able to set their own personal tone with their own font.

Fix logo with point - P

During feedback the client also gave me the idea that my logo for the magazine should contain the point that the powerpoint design has. I do agree with his idea, I think this could help with the brand identity of the magazine and make the logo of the magazine more recognisable to the market as the arrow symbolises a point on a map showing a location which is essentially what the magazine does with pointing out locations of North London venues. This shows the readers the magazine is a North London based magazine which could help influence their decision to pick the magazine more.

Make the staff list clear and show what is required - P

Another point that the client said to me is that the personnel list I had made and out on my powerpoint was missing a few key roles. I then chose that this point was actually useful and a good one. I now believe this as I wanted to get investors for the magazine they would want to know how many members of staff the magazine would require and the roles that were required for the magazine. This would ensure the magazine could be completed to the best possible standard.

Use more software for magazine editing - N

A points made by the client also was that he didn't think that I was using another range of computer software to edit my magazine. He said I should have more software then just photoshop. However,  I do not think I will follow this point. I think this as a small magazine starting up, complicated and expensive computer software just isn't needed, the funds needed for this software would also be too much for the magazine in the starting up stage. Photoshop is good for editing the magazine as it has the features that are currently required for the task.
